Description (Ages 7-10)
These swimmers can perform all 4 kicks legally and mastering the basics behind all 4
strokes and legally performing turns. The purpose of this group is to develop participants’
confidence in the strokes learned in Bronze group and to improve other aquatic skills.
These swimmers will be encouraged to participate in USF competitive events with other
beginner athletes from other clubs.
Schedule Options:
- 4 days/week
Pre-requisite
- Graduation from Bronze Group or can legally perform backstroke, breaststroke
and front crawl (freestyle) - Perform legal breast kick and dolphin kick
- Able to perform basic dives and flip turns
Our Goals
- Have Fun!
- Learn to perform all 4 competitive strokes legally
- Learn to perform dive starts, flip turns and open turns legally
- Understand basic competitive rules and learn to follow them
- Establish regular attendance habits
- Consistently use proper lane etiquette
- Aim for silver standard times of 4:30 200IM and 4:00 200 free
- Wear goggles consistently along with a swim cap
Graduation Guideline into Gold Group
- Must be able to swim all strokes legally for 50 metres
- Must be able to do legal dive starts, flip turns and open turns
- Attend a PASS Meet
- Silver Standard at PASS level (4:30 200IM and 4:00 200 free)
- Successful two week trial period
- Move ups are solely up to coaches’ discretion
